The event, co-sponsored by State Bank of Mysore, was conducted in exemplary fashion by Mysore District Bridge Association (MDBA). The hospitality (excellent lunch and cocktail dinner on all days) and arrangements provided by MDBA, led by chief organisers Hiranniah and Murthy, ably supported by Cosmopolitan Club staff was exemplary and appreciated by all and sundry. Curtain was brought down on this edition of state championships with prize distribution and High-Tea at 5 PM on Mar 23rd.
B.N Jamkhandi directed the tournament efficiently and was supported by tireless efforts of our secretary Pradeep Kulkarni on all aspects. The format of all the 3 events ensured that sufficient no of boards were played before determining the prize winners.
The only sour note was news from Bangalore, of the sad demise of our veteran bridge player, tournament director and dramatist, N.S Dani in the midst of the tournament. Shri Dani was originally supposed to direct this event and he couldn't make it because of ill-health.
