Team Tolani Shipping Wins Annual Maharashtra State Bridge Championship
Team Tolani Shipping ( R A Agrawal, Arvind Vaidya , Archie Sequeira , Arun Bapat , V M Lal , Rajendra Bhiwandkar ) beat Team Manyawar ( Raju Tolani , Ajay Khare , Anil Padhye , Avinash Gokhale , Suhas Vaidya , Kalpana Misra ) by 9 imps to clinch the Team Championship . With this victory , Tolani Shipping has qualified to represent Maharashtra at the Summer Nationals to be held in April .
The 14x4 finals at the PYC Gymkhana in Pune , was a a keenly fought battle which was played in good spirit by both the teams . Tolani Shipping went ahead by 10 imps after first set . Manyawar came back well with +19 session and led by 9 imps at half way stage . Manyawar added further 14 imps to their lead in the 3rd . 23 imps was a handy lead for Manyawar but Tolani Shipping fought hard to win last set by 32 imps , to win the match by 9 .
